उद्यानम् ते पुरुष नावयानम्

Oh mankind! Keep progressing, regress not||

A unique attribute of human beings is our ability to understand, acquire knowledge and progress beyond the innate, in-born knowledge. The journey towards ‘rightful’ knowledge, for self-development and for societal, civilizational development is what Udyanam seeks to do, together with children and parents.

Essential constituents of our learning model

We, at Udyanam, consider “learning” as a facilitation journey, incorporating the following principles:

Samvahana / Communication

(सं- Rightful वहन – Communication)

In order to acquire and share knowledge on multiple subjects covering many fields, a suitable medium of expression is needed.
Language is that medium to convey and to grasp. Sanskrit, mother of many languages, and a language with depth in grammar, rooted in values and range of literature across many fields, has been adopted as a language for learning along with Kannada,
Hindi and English.

Samskriti /
Culture

(सं- Rightful कृति- Conduct)

”Rightful”ness is that which means the same across all people, across all time, and across all geographies, and remains impervious to any individual’s opinions. We intend to imbibe and disseminate rightful conduct in all our
endeavors.

Saamarthya / Capabilities

Our intent is to allow the identification, expression, flowering and fruition of innate abilities through building suitable skills and capabilities. Hence, children are involved in developing life-skills spanning art, music, science, mathematics, handwork, agriculture, all with equal importance thereby allowing the child to experience and express their interest/orientation in a specific area, further providing an opportunity to sustain and grow that interest

Areas of involvement for a child include

Numeracy

Analytical & logical thinking

Environmental
sciences

Agriculture

Dexterity and Motor skills

Carpentry

Pottery

Physical Activity

Construction

Music and Art

Rhythm – Tabla

Singing – Carnatic Music

Dance & Drama -Yakshagana

Folk & Tribal art
